Ihana, laiska aamu - A Lazy morning

Tänään maisema heräsi sakeaan sumuun, oli tosi kaunis aamu. Olemme nauttineet lauantaiaamun rauhasta. Ihanaa, kun on viikonloppu!

This morning there was a thick, misty blanket hanging around the landscape. So beautiful! We have enjoyed peaceful, lazy morning. Have a relaxing weekend!

Elokuu - August

Lapsuudessani elokuu ja syksy tarkoitti elonkorjuuta ja metsästyskauden alkua. Elonkorjuuta mekin olemme saaneet tehdä, keitellä hilloja ja mehuja. Omaa pihaa kauemmaksi en ole vielä ehtinyt marjaan. Myös Cisse on vuoden maalla asumisen jälkeen aloittanut oman metsästyskautensa. Saalis ei päätä huimaa, mutta onhan se viite jostain kissamaisesta normaaliudesta. 

Rakastan elokuuta. Olemme saaneet juhlia ystävien häitä (onnea rakas Mii ja Jaakko Sudennahka!), kummilasten rippijuhlaa ja kastetta ja palata taas kotiin maalle tähtien loistaessa mustalla taivaalla. Pikkuiset kissavauvat ovat kasvaneet, mutta ne saavat tyytyä maailman ihasteluun vielä toistaiseksi vain ikkunan takaa. Ehkä ensi kesään. 

In my childhood August ment the harvest and the hunting season to begin. We have been enjoying of some harvest too; I've been cooking jam and juice almost every day. Haven't had a chance to get out in the forest yet, I've been too busy in my own garden. Our cat Cisse has started the hunting season though. He has lived as a country cat for almost one year and this is his first catch. It doesn't seem much (it was the tiniest mouse I've ever seen and propably died of an old age) but he seems like a proper hunter cat now.

I just love August. We have been celebrating our dear friends' wedding (congratulations once more to beloved Mii and mr. Jack Wolfskin), babtism and confirmation of our god children and then been able to come back home under the bright stars. The kittens have grown, but they still have to wait for their hunting trips behind the window and let me get used to the idea of letting them go outside.

This summer

Paljon ihmisiä, paljon juhlia. A lots of people,  so many parties during this summer.

Tänä kesänä ei ole tapahtunut mitään erityistä, mutta silti niin paljon. Monilla tavoin on eletty ensimmäistä tai viimeistä kesää. Elämä tuntuu hyvältä ja arvokkaalta, kaikessa arkisuudessaan.

This summer has been somehow very ordinary, but still I have felt we have been facing some things for the very first or the last time. Nothing special but such a good life, just the way it is.
